Your boiler is having trouble reading the outside temperature, which may cause your heating to respond inefficiently to the weather.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Outdoor sensor error – could be damaged
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control board loses communication with the sensor located on the outside of your home. The most common reasons are moisture getting into the sensor housing, a break in the thin communication wire, or the sensor itself failing due to exposure to the elements.
This fault is often triggered during autumn or winter when increased rain and wind can expose loose wiring or damaged sensor seals.
