Your boiler has lost its connection to the gas control system, meaning it cannot safely light or provide any heat.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Gas valve wiring fault
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's central computer loses its electrical link with the gas valve, which acts as the safety gate for fuel. The most common reason is a loose or damaged wiring connection between these two parts, or a component failure within the gas valve itself that prevents it from responding to commands. Because the boiler cannot confirm it can safely control the flow of gas, it shuts down entirely as a safety precaution.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
