Your boiler is having trouble communicating with the optional sensor located on the outside of your house, which helps it adjust to the weather.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Outdoor sensor error
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler loses its connection to the weather compensation probe located on an external wall. The most common reasons are physical damage to the sensor itself from the elements, or the wiring becoming loose or corroded over time. Because the boiler can no longer detect the temperature outside, it cannot automatically adjust its performance to match the weather.
This fault is more common following a period of heavy rain or severe storms, which can cause water ingress in the sensor housing or damage the external wiring.
