Technical description: Gas supply fault
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler tries to light but fails to detect a consistent flame after several attempts. The most common reasons are a temporary interruption in the gas supply, a blocked burner, or an issue with the condensation drainage system preventing the boiler from firing safely.
This fault is much more common during freezing winter temperatures, as the external condensation pipe can freeze and cause the boiler to shut down for safety.
DIY fix possible
Check that your gas meter has credit and the isolation valve is open.Verify if other gas appliances, like a hob, are working correctly. If it is freezing outside, check if the white plastic drain pipe is frozen and thaw it with warm water.Reset the boiler by turning the selector switch to the 'R' position for five seconds.
