What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler successfully sparks but cannot maintain a steady flame to keep the heating running. The most common cause is a lack of sufficient gas reaching the burner, often due to a faulty gas valve or an issue with the external supply. In some cases, a worn ignition electrode may also fail to detect the flame, causing the system to shut down for safety.
This fault is more frequent during extreme cold snaps, as high demand on the local gas network can cause supply pressure to drop or external regulators to freeze.
