Technical description: Exchange probe fault – wiring shorted or wiring broken – check wiring
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal temperature sensor is unable to send a clear signal back to the main control board. The most common reason is that the sensor itself has worn out and failed, though it can also be caused by loose or damaged wiring that has been disturbed during a recent service or repair.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
