Your boiler is receiving electrical power and is currently in its standard standby mode, ready to operate when you turn on the heating or hot water.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: POWER ‘ON’
What causes this fault?
The 'E' code is not actually a fault, but a status indicator showing that the boiler is successfully connected to the mains electricity. It appears when the boiler is in standby mode and simply means the system is waiting for a signal from your thermostat or a hot water tap to start firing. If your boiler stays on 'E' even when you want heat, it usually means the external controls or the internal pump are not yet calling for gas.
DIY fix possible
Check that your external thermostat or programmer is calling for heatEnsure the boiler's temperature control knobs are turned upNo action is required if the boiler fires up normally when heat is requested
