Your boiler is trying to start up, but the internal fan is struggling to reach the required speed to safely clear waste gases.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Waiting for the fan to run up to speed.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system detects that the fan isn't spinning fast enough to safely push exhaust fumes out of the flue. The most common reasons are an accumulation of dust or debris slowing the fan blades down, or an electrical failure where the main control board is unable to send the correct power signal to the motor.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
