Your boiler has tried to light several times but failed to start, so it has locked itself out for safety.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Ignition Lockout
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system can't detect a flame after several attempts to ignite the gas. It is often caused by a lack of spark, a blocked gas supply, or a faulty sensor failing to tell the boiler that a flame is actually present. In some cases, the internal components responsible for opening the gas valve or providing power to the spark may have failed.
This fault can be more frequent during the first cold snap of winter when internal components like the gas valve or electrode may seize up after months of inactivity.
