Your boiler is currently trying to light the flame and this light will go off once the burner has started successfully.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Flashes to indicate ignition operation (stops after detection).
What causes this fault?
This status occurs while the boiler is trying to create a flame to start the heating process. It is triggered when the control board sends power to the ignition system to spark the burner. If this light continues to flash without the boiler firing up, it usually means the fuel is not reaching the burner or the spark is not strong enough to light the gas.
This can be more frequent during the first cold snap of autumn, as gas valves or electrodes may struggle to operate correctly after being idle throughout the summer.
DIY fix possible
Check if the gas supply is turned on at the meterObserve the light to see if it stops flashing once the boiler fires upReset the boiler if the light continues to flash without the heating starting
