GAS VALVE FAULT High Lockout

Your boiler is unable to safely control the flow of gas needed to stay alight, so it has shut down to prevent any risks.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description: Check wiring. Check gas pressure. Change gas valve solenoid. Replace faulty gas valve.

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects an electrical or physical failure in the component that manages gas delivery. The most common reason is that the magnetic coils within the valve have burnt out or the internal mechanism has become stuck, preventing the boiler from maintaining a safe flame. In some cases, loose or damaged wiring between the control board and the valve can also trigger this safety shutdown.

Typical repair cost £280-550 (including labour)
