What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system cannot confirm that a flame has successfully ignited after several attempts. The most common reason is a lack of fuel reaching the burner, often due to a blocked gas valve or a worn ignition lead that can no longer create a spark.
This fault is more common during the first cold snap of autumn when internal components that have been idle over summer often fail to move correctly.
DIY fix possible
Check if other gas appliances in your home, like a hob, are working to ensure gas supply.Verify that your gas meter has credit if you use a prepay meter.Press the Reset button on the boiler control panel for 3 seconds.
