Your heat pump has encountered a problem with its internal power management system, meaning it cannot currently run the compressor to provide heat.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Inverter Error
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the internal electronics that manage the power supply to the heat pump's compressor fail or detect an electrical irregularity. The most common reason is an overheating or malfunctioning inverter board, which prevents the system from being able to safely ramp up the motor to generate heat.
This issue can become more frequent during summer heatwaves or periods of extreme cold when the inverter is under high electrical load to maintain performance.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
