Your boiler is providing hot water to your taps correctly, but the central heating is not turning on for your radiators.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: Display settings, timer/room thermostat status, radiator valves, or OpenTherm link wire issues.
What causes this fault?
This issue occurs when the boiler doesn't receive a 'call for heat' signal from your external controls, even though the internal water heating system is working fine. The most common reasons are dead batteries in a wireless thermostat, a faulty wall programmer, or an internal link wire that has become loose or disconnected. It effectively means the boiler is waiting for an instruction to turn on the radiators that never arrives.
This problem is frequently discovered during the first cold spell of autumn when homeowners try to turn their heating back on after it has been switched off all summer.
DIY fix possible
Ensure the central heating setting on the boiler display is turned up and not set to 'Off'.Check that your room thermostat or programmer is turned on and set to a temperature higher than the current room temperature.Check all radiator valves (TRVs) are open and ensure the batteries in your thermostat have not run out.
