Technical description: Lamp OFF.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's electrical brain fails to receive or process power, often due to a component failure on the control board or a blown internal fuse. The most common reason is an electrical surge or some of the older internal wiring wearing down, which physically breaks the circuit required for the boiler to turn on.
This issue can be more common during the autumn and winter months when the boiler is suddenly pushed into heavy use after being idle all summer, or following stormy weather that causes power surges.
DIY fix possible
Check if the boiler's power switch or fused spur on the wall is turned on.Inspect your home's main fuse box to see if the heating circuit has tripped.Check if other appliances in the house have power to rule out a general power cut.
