Your boiler has lost power to its main control system due to an electrical fault, meaning it cannot start the heating or hot water process.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Short circuit 24V
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal electrical system detects a short circuit, which shuts down the power to protect the sensitive components. It is often caused by a leak inside the casing that has dripped onto the wiring or a failed component, such as the pump, pulling too much voltage. Without a stable 24V supply, the control board cannot communicate with the parts needed to ignite the burner.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
