Your boiler has no power or the control screen has failed, meaning the heating and hot water will not work until electricity is restored to the unit.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Blank Display.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system loses electrical power or the communication between the internal components is broken. The most common reasons are a blown internal fuse caused by a temporary power surge or a hardware failure within the main circuit board or display screen.
This issue can be more common during the winter months or during stormy weather, when power fluctuations and grid surges are more likely to occur.
DIY fix possible
Check if other appliances in the house are working to rule out a general power cut.Inspect your main fuse box/consumer unit to see if the heating circuit tripper switch has flipped to 'OFF'.Check the fused spur switch (usually a red neon light switch near the boiler) to ensure it is turned on and the fuse hasn't blown.
