What causes this fault?
This occurs when the boiler detects that it cannot safely increase its power level while still meeting your heating or hot water needs. It is often caused by a lack of proper water flow through the system or a sensor that is sending slightly inaccurate temperature readings to the main control board. Instead of shutting down entirely, the boiler limits itself to a low flame to prevent overheating.
This status is more common during the summer months when the boiler is only heating a small amount of water for taps rather than the whole radiator system.
