f029 High Lockout

Your boiler is unable to control the gas supply correctly, which has caused it to shut down for safety.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description: Gas valve fault.

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects a communication error or mechanical failure within the gas valve. The most common reason is that the valve is unable to open or close properly to regulate the fuel flow, leading the system to shut down for safety. In some cases, a faulty ignition lead or a failing control board can also send incorrect signals, mimicking a valve failure.

Typical repair cost £200-£350 (including labour)
