Technical description: Elapsed the number of retrials
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler has attempted to ignite several times but failed to detect a stable flame. The most common reasons include a blocked gas supply, worn-out spark electrodes, or a 'sensing' probe that can no longer tell if the burner is actually lit.
This fault is more common during extreme cold snaps, as the external gas meter regulator can freeze or the internal components can struggle with the increased demand for heat.
DIY fix possible
Check that your gas meter is topped up and the emergency control valve is openPress the reset button on the control panel to allow the boiler to try lighting againIf the boiler is frozen, check if the external condensate pipe is blocked with ice
