Technical description: EEPROM lockout
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control board suffers a communication failure or data corruption within its internal memory chip. It is usually caused by an electrical surge, component aging, or moisture ingress affecting the delicate circuitry of the main PCB. Effectively, the boiler has 'forgotten' its essential operating instructions and shuts down because it can no longer guarantee safe operation.
