What causes this fault?
This occurs when the boiler detects that the water in the system has reached the desired temperature too quickly, so it pauses to prevent 'short cycling'. By waiting a few minutes before restarting, the boiler protects its internal components from the stress of turning on and off too fast.
This is more common during the autumn and spring when the weather is milder and the heating system doesn't need to bark at full capacity to keep the house warm.
