Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description: FLASHING. Boiler at lock-out

What causes this fault?

General lockout code 8 occurs when the boiler has failed to light several times and has shut down as a safety precaution. This is usually caused by a lack of spark to ignite the gas or a failure in the internal components that regulate gas flow or monitor the flame. If the boiler cannot confirm a successful ignition within its timed sequence, it stops to prevent unburned gas from building up.

Typical repair cost £100-£350 (including labour)
