Your boiler has reached its required temperature and is simply taking a rest while it waits for the water to cool down before firing up again.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Boiler operating but up to temperature.
What causes this fault?
This happens when the water inside the boiler reaches the maximum temperature set on the thermostat. To prevent overheating, the burner shuts off temporarily while the pump continues to circulate the heated water around your radiators. Once the water temperature drops below a certain level, the boiler will automatically fire up again to maintain the heat.
This is more common during the autumn and spring when the weather is milder, as your home requires less intense heat to stay warm.
DIY fix possible
Check your room thermostat is set high enough to call for heatWait up to 10 minutes for the boiler to cycle back onEnsure radiators are turned on and not blocked
