Your boiler is taking a short rest to prevent it from switching on and off too quickly, which helps protect the internal parts from wear and tear.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Boiler re-start delayed to prevent rapid cycling. (Max. delay time is 5 minutes)
What causes this fault?
This occurs when the boiler reaches its target temperature very quickly and needs to pause before firing up again. It is usually caused by the heat having nowhere to go, such as when your radiators are already hot or the room thermostat has been satisfied. By waiting a few minutes, the boiler protects its internal components from the damage caused by constantly clicking on and off.
This code is more frequent during autumn and spring when the weather is mild and the heating system doesn't need to work at full capacity.
DIY fix possible
Wait for 5 minutes for the delay timer to expireEnsure your room thermostat is turned up higher than the current room temperatureCheck that your radiator valves are open to allow heat to circulate
