Your boiler's heating system has a faulty internal temperature sensor that is preventing the radiators from warming up correctly.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: Fault on Central Heating Sensor
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the internal thermistor, which monitors the temperature of the water heading to your radiators, fails to send a consistent reading to the main control board. Over time, the electrical resistance within this probe can break down or the sensor can become coated in limescale, leading to inaccurate signals or a complete circuit failure. When this happens, the boiler shuts down as a safety precaution because it can no longer regulate how hot the water is getting.
This fault often comes to light during the first cold spell of autumn when the heating is turned on after a long summer break, putting the aging sensor under sudden thermal stress.
