What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal safety sensor detects that waste gases are not being cleared from the system or fresh air is not being pulled in correctly. The most common reasons are a build-up of dirt in the narrow plastic tubes inside the boiler, a failing fan, or a blockage in the flue pipe leading outside.
This issue is more frequent during periods of high winds, as strong gusts can push back against the flue and disrupt the air pressure readings.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
