Your boiler has failed to ignite and has locked itself out as a safety precaution.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Go to Ignition Lockout section of the fault finding instructions.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler tries to start up but cannot successfully establish a flame after several attempts. The most common reasons are a lack of gas reaching the burner, a worn-out ignition spark, or a component failure preventing the gas valve from opening correctly.
This fault is more common during the first cold snap of winter when internal components are put under sudden strain after being idle during the summer.
DIY fix possible
Check that your gas supply is active (e.g., check other gas appliances or your meter credit)Move the selector switch to the 'Reset' position for five seconds, then turn it back to 'On'Repeat the reset process up to three times if the boiler does not fire up immediately
