Your boiler has lost its connection to the gas valve, meaning it cannot safely ignite to provide heating or hot water.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Gas valve connection fault
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's main control board loses electrical communication with the gas valve, which acts as the gateway for fuel. The most common reason is a loose or damaged wiring connection between these two parts, or a physical failure of the electronic coil within the gas valve itself. Because the boiler cannot verify that the gas can be turned off or on safely, it shuts down immediately as a safety precaution.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
