Your boiler's internal pump is continuing to run after the system should have stopped, usually indicating the water is still too hot or there is a circulation issue.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: HTG pump run on
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler detects that water is not cooling down quickly enough after the heating has switched off, forcing the internal pump to keep running to protect the components. The most common reasons are a blockage in the pipework or a pump that is beginning to fail and can no longer move water efficiently through the system. In some cases, it can also be caused by temperature sensors giving incorrect readings to the main control board.
This issue often surfaces in autumn when the heating is turned on for the first time after summer, as pump components can seize up during long periods of inactivity.
DIY fix possible
