What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler tries to light the gas five times but fails to detect a steady flame each time. The most common reasons are a lack of gas supply to the unit, a worn-out ignition spark, or a sensor that can no longer 'see' the flame even if it has lit. In some cases, it can also be caused by a faulty internal part that manages the gas flow or the electrical controls.

Check if other gas appliances, like a hob, are working to ensure gas is being supplied to the property.Verify that your gas meter has credit if you use a pre-payment system.Press the 'Reset' button on the boiler control panel for one second to see if the fault clears.
