Your boiler is simply running its pump for a few minutes to cool itself down after heating your hot water, which is a normal part of its operation.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Boiler in pump overrun mode (hot water)
What causes this fault?
This code appears when the boiler has finished heating your water and needs to dissipate the high levels of residual heat left inside the heat exchanger. The pump continues to circulate water through the system briefly to prevent the internal components from overheating or becoming damaged by trapped heat. It is a programmed safety feature rather than a mechanical failure.
This status may be more noticeable in summer when the boiler is only used for hot water and the rest of the central heating system is cold.
DIY fix possible
Wait 5 to 10 minutes for the pump to finish its cooling cycleCheck that your hot water taps are fully turned offObserve if the code clears and the boiler returns to normal standby mode
