Technical description: Short circuit DHW temperature sensor

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the domestic hot water sensor's electrical circuit is interrupted by a short, preventing the boiler from reading the water temperature. The most common reason is that the sensor's internal components have failed over time, though it can also be caused by water leaking onto the electrical connections or a damaged wire touching the boiler's metal casing.

Typical repair cost £90-160 (including labour)
