Your boiler has noticed that the internal pump is running faster than expected while trying to heat your home, which often indicates a circulation problem or air in the system.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: Pump position during CH-operation: pump is circulating at high speed
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler detects that the internal pump is spinning at an unusually high speed because it isn't meeting enough resistance from the water in the pipes. The most common reason is air trapped within the system or a blockage that is preventing water from circulating properly. It can also happen if the water pressure has dropped too low, leaving the pump spinning through air pockets rather than liquid.
This issue often appears in autumn when the heating is turned on for the first time after summer, as air frequently settles in the radiators and pipework during periods of inactivity.
DIY fix possible
Check that all radiator valves are fully open.Try bleeding your radiators to remove any trapped air.Restart the boiler to see if the fault clears.
