Your boiler has detected a problem with the fan that safely pushes waste gases out of your home, causing the system to shut down for safety.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Speed deviation Fan: Fans blocked, plug not inserted correctly on fan, hall sensor defective, fault in cable harness, electronics defective
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects that the fan is not spinning at the correct speed to safely clear waste gases. The most common reasons are a physical blockage preventing the blades from turning or an electrical failure in the fan’s motor or communication wires.
This fault can be more common in autumn and winter if high winds create back-pressure in the flue or if debris like dead leaves gets sucked into the air intake.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
