Your boiler is currently running an automatic program to clear air bubbles out of the internal pipework and does not require a repair.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Productpurgingactive
What causes this fault?
This code appears when the boiler detects air trapped inside the heat exchanger or pump, often after the system has been drained or a new part has been installed. It triggers an automatic purging sequence that moves the internal valves and runs the pump to push air bubbles toward the automatic air vent. This is a normal safety function designed to prevent the boiler from overheating or becoming noisy due to 'air locking'.
This is most common in autumn when homeowners bleed their radiators or restart their heating systems for the first time after the summer break.
DIY fix possible
Wait approximately 5 to 10 minutes for the purge cycle to finish automatically.Ensure all radiator valves are open to help move air through the system.Check that the boiler pressure is between 1.0 and 1.5 bar on the display.
