Your wall-mounted remote control unit is not communicating correctly with the boiler because of a settings error.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: Control mode - Vitotrol remote control incorrectly encoded
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler’s software settings do not match the physical remote control or thermostat connected to it. It often happens after a power cut or a replacement part has been installed, causing the boiler to lose track of how it should be communicating with your wall controller. Essentially, the boiler is reaching out to a device it can no longer 'recognise' properly.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
