Your boiler is currently switched off or in stand-by mode and is ready to operate when you request heating or hot water.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Switched off or at stand-by
What causes this fault?
This is not an actual fault, but rather a status indicator showing the boiler has power and is waiting for a command. It occurs when the appliance is in standby mode because there is currently no demand for central heating or domestic hot water. Once you turn up your thermostat or open a hot tap, the light sequence will change as the boiler begins its ignition process.
This status is more frequently observed during the summer months when the central heating is turned off and the boiler only activates briefly for hot water.
DIY fix possible
Check that the main power switch for the boiler is turned onEnsure the selector dial is set to the desired 'Winter' or 'Summer' positionTurn up your room thermostat or programmer to see if the boiler fires up
