What causes this fault?
This is not a mechanical failure but a sign that the SARA (Self Adjacent Range Adjustment) function has been activated. It occurs when the boiler detects a need to automatically increase the temperature of the water flowing to your radiators to help your home reach the desired temperature more quickly.
This status is most common during the autumn and winter months when the outside temperature drops and the heating system has to work harder to warm up the house.
DIY fix possible
No action is required as this is an advisory light indicating the SARA function is active.The light will stop flashing once the boiler has finished adjusting the temperature automatically.If you wish to deactivate it, turn the heating temperature selector dial slightly out of the 'Auto' or 'SARA' sector.
