Your boiler has paused temporarily because it is waiting for a part to cool down or for a system sensor to detect the correct reading before restarting.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Temporary fault
What causes this fault?
This status occurs when the boiler's internal computer notices a temporary reading that is outside of the normal operating range, such as the water getting too hot too quickly. It physically pauses the burner to allow the internal components to cool down or for the system pressure to stabilise before it attempts to fire up again. The most common reason is a slight restriction in water flow or a temperature sensor that is beginning to send inconsistent signals to the main board.
DIY fix possible
Wait up to 15 minutes to see if the boiler restarts automaticallyCheck that your heating controls or room thermostat are turned upRotate the mode selector switch to 'OFF/RESET' and then back to the heating/hot water position
