Your boiler's electronic memory chip has developed a software or communication fault, preventing the system from running safely.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: EEPROM error
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal memory chip, which stores critical operating instructions, fails to communicate with the main control board. The most common reason is a permanent electronic failure within the circuitry or a corrupted data file that prevents the boiler from identifying its own configuration. Because the system can no longer verify its safety parameters, it shuts down completely to prevent any malfunction.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
