Your boiler is continuing to circulate water after it has finished heating to prevent internal components from overheating.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Pump over run
What causes this fault?
This occurs when the boiler keeps the pump running to dissipate residual heat after a heating cycle, but the temperature isn't dropping as quickly as expected. The most common reason is a blockage or a closed valve in the system that prevents water from flowing freely, causing heat to stay trapped inside the boiler unit.
DIY fix possible
Check that at least one radiator valve (the bypass radiator) is fully openWait up to 15 minutes for the safety cycle to complete automaticallyEnsure the system pressure is between 1.0 and 1.5 bar on the gauge
