Technical description: No display, boiler inactive
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's electronic brain loses its power supply or suffers a total electrical failure. It is most commonly caused by a blown internal fuse or a capacitor failure on the main circuit board, which prevents electricity from reaching the display and controls. In some cases, it can also be triggered by a faulty connection between the user interface and the main component board.
This issue often occurs following summer storms or power surges, though it is also common during the first cold snap of winter when the components are suddenly put under increased electrical load.
DIY fix possible
Check if other appliances in the house are working to rule out a power cutCheck your main consumer unit (fuse box) to see if a circuit has trippedEnsure the boiler's fused spur switch is turned on and the fuse inside has not blown
