Your boiler has lost its connection to an external safety device or a specific wiring link is missing, causing it to shut down for protection.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Jumper 8-9 not detected.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects a break in a specific safety electrical circuit. It usually means an external safety device like a pipe thermostat has tripped to prevent overheating, or a small wire bridge on the control board has come loose or failed. Because this circuit is a critical safety loop, the boiler will refuse to fire until the connection is restored.
Engineer required
