Your boiler's fan is failing to start up, which means the system cannot safely clear waste gases and will not allow the boiler to ignite.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Fan does not run during the start up phase – fan harness connector needs checking
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control board sends a signal to the fan to start, but the fan fails to spin up to the required speed. The most common reasons are a build-up of dirt or debris seizing the fan motor, loose electrical connections, or a failure in the component's internal circuitry.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
