Your boiler's air fan is failing to start up, which means the system cannot safely clear the combustion chamber to begin the heating process.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: The fan does not run during the start phase
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer tries to spin up the fan to clear out old gases, but it receives no response or movement from the motor. The most common reason is that the fan motor has burnt out or seized, though it can also be caused by a communication failure between the main control board and the fan assembly.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
