E2222 High Lockout

Your boiler has stopped working because its internal thermometer has developed an electrical fault and can no longer tell how hot the water is.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description: Short circuit in the flow temperature sensor contacts

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the sensor responsible for measuring the temperature of the water leaving the boiler fails to send a clear signal to the control board. It is typically caused by the internal electrical contacts within the sensor wearing out or moisture causing a connection to fail, meaning the boiler can no longer operate safely. In some cases, the wiring connecting the sensor to the main computer may have become loose or damaged over time.

Typical repair cost £120-220 (including labour)
