POINT G High Lockout

Your boiler has switched itself off because the internal fan that clears exhaust gases has stopped working.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description: Internal fan does not run. Replace fan.

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's control board sends power to the fan but does not receive any movement in return. The most common reason is that the fan motor has burnt out or seized up due to age, preventing it from clearing combustion gases so the boiler can safely fire up.

This fault often appears during the first cold spell of autumn when the fan, having sat idle over the summer, fails to spin up due to seized bearings.

Typical repair cost £280-£450 (including labour)

Engineer required
