Your boiler is still detecting a flame or heat signal even after it has been told to turn off, which is a safety conflict.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Ionisation current remains after pumpkins (shutdown)
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensors continue to detect a flame or heat signal even after the burner has been instructed to switch off. The most common reasons are a sticking gas valve that isn't fully closing or a faulty ionisation probe that is sending an incorrect electrical signal to the main control board.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
