Your boiler is simply starting up and checking its internal systems; this is a normal part of the power-on process.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Please wait, initialisation in progress.
What causes this fault?
This sequence occurs when the boiler is first switched on or after a power cut while the internal control board runs its mandatory safety checks. It is physically caused by the system testing its sensors and components to ensure everything is safe before lighting the burner. Once the internal computer confirms all systems are operational, the code will disappear and the boiler will begin normal operation.
This code is frequently seen in autumn when homeowners first switch their heating system back on after the summer break.
DIY fix possible
Wait for approximately 30 to 60 seconds for the sequence to complete. If the code persists for more than 5 minutes, turn the power off and back on at the fused spur switch.Ensure any 'Reset' buttons are not stuck in the pressed position.
